The Bannockburn Quilting Bee directed the year-long project of the Memorial Prayer Quilt for the foyer of the Abington Education Center. (This quilt will be located outside the elevator on the first floor.) The quilt has 312 squares of family names and scripture verses, blessings or sayings. Each square is set apart with a rus-red border and the entire quilt has a rust-red border and binding. It was machine quilted by Sherri Grant.
Members directing the project were Betty Dunn, Sue Fowler, Sandra McCallum, and Margaret Metcalfe. The quilt will be hanging when the Center is opened.
Just FYI (we cut, packaged, distributed, helped others with their squares, and sewed the squares together forming a 7 foot by 14 foot quilt.) Here are pictures of our quilt during construction.
