Chuck Davis

PASTORAL CARE & SENIOR ADULTS PASTOR

Chuck Davis is the Senior Adult and Pastoral Care Pastor at Bannockburn South Austin Campus. He has been on staff 13 years. He believes strongly that Senior Adults should be involved and setting the pace by participation and mentoring younger adults. This year he will celebrate 50 years of Ministry in various roles as a Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, Senior Pastor and Chaplain. His ministries have incorporated urban, suburban and rural congregations in four different states.

Chuck is a certified Chaplain. He holds undergraduate degrees in Christian Education and Vocal performance. He obtained a Masters of Divinity degree with an emphasis in Homiletics and Hermeneutics from North American Baptist Seminary.

He came to accept Christ as a teenager and was baptized at the same time as his father. He accepted the call to full time ministry at age 18. He served his first church working with youth soon afterward. Scripture memorization was a key factor in his early ministries thanks to Youth for Christ and Navigators training. He married soon after college and had three sons. His first wife died at age 38. He later remarried and along with his wife blended a family including seven children. These events deeply tested his faith and altered his direction in ministry. As he states, “His desire is to develop a ministry where fractured people in major life transitions can learn the richness of God’s grace and power to restore what has been broken, to bless what has been cursed to give them a future and a hope.”

He is grateful to be ministering at Bannockburn where he has had many opportunities to minister to hurting families. His life verse is Psalm 40:3 which states, “He has put a new song in my mouth even praise to our God. Many shall hear it and believe and put their trust in Him.”
